A day our with friends

I know it has been a while since I have blogged again, but with family home and visits and appointments for Baby K we have been a little busy. So lets start with updates from the last week.

My brother was home Tuesday-today. It was great to see him. We haven't seen each other since Christmas. D informed us that uncle Wendell was Santa Claus. The only place that we can think that came from is that Wendell was home for Christmas last time and Santa came then. That is my best deciphering of a 2 year olds mind. D had fun running around pretending to scare everyone and being the full of energy 2 year old he is. We spent Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday with him. He will be greatly missed until he returns home again.

On Wednesday Baby K had her 6 month well child visit. She is completely healthy and continues to grow in hieght and weight. She is now 17lbs. and in the 69%. Chris had been concerned that she was losing weight at our house, but after talking with the Dr. she just thinks that she is stretching out. We are suppose to keep up with the rice cereal, but to lay off the vegetables and fruit until she is 8 months since she was born 2 months early. She was given her shots.

Now onto today. Today I am going fabric shopping with a friend of mine. Yeah for fabric stores and friends who understand fabric obsessions. She is coming with her little one that is 1.5, I will have D (2) and Baby K(6 months). If anyone hears a three ring circus in Mankato today you will know it is us. Off to pick up kids and then to go shopping.

Questions?

Today Baby K has a drs. appt. I will finally be able to ask the dr. all of my questions that I have had for the last month. D was a small but full term baby and I don't know how to judge Baby K's milestones and how to judge feeding and sleeping schedules with her being 8 weeks early. So I have my list of questions ready and I will be excited to finally know the answers. Plus Chris and I are trying to figure out if she has lost weight at our house or if she is just stretching. I think she is just stretching out, but Chris is concerned that she is losing weight. So we will find out today.

D is going to grandma and grandpa H's while I take Baby K to the drs. appt. He likes it there, but is at that age where he doesn't like it when mommy leaves him. We will have to see how he is today.

It was great seeing my brother yesterday and spending time with my family. I didn't get home until late and by then it was time to put the kids to bed. Chris commented to me later that night that he missed spending time with them today. I will have to keep that in mind next time.

A day with Family

Yesterday was spent with teachers and running and today we are going to mom and dad's to spend the day with family. My brother got to my parents house last night after his long trip from Pennsylvania. We haven't seen each other since Christmas so I am heading over for the day before my sisters get to moms on Thursday. My brother is much older than me and was married before I was even born. We don't have much in common, but I love when he comes home and I love spending time with him. When everyone is home though my parents house is a little full and my two little ones don't do so well with all the commotion. We will be there on Thursday when everyone is home, but I will spend my time chasing after my little ones and comforting and calming so there won't be much time to visit. So today I am taking the opportunity to visit with my brother when not so many people are around.

It is also my mom and my uncles birthdays today. So it will be nice to spend the day with her on her birthday. My mom turns 75 this year. She doesn't act 75 and I can't be old enough to have a mom that old, but I guess I am. So happy Birthday mom. I Love You!

A weekend with new friends

Chris , D, Baby K, and I spent the one day this weekend with some new friends out at a local campground. I can not tell you how much I needed to have a time to talk to others who know what we do and what can happen with our little guys. I met some new friends whom I hope we will stay in contact with. D truly was on his best behavior and enjoyed playing with Java for most of the day. Baby K was the center of attention letting everyone get her baby fix with her. She just soaked it all up. Chris spent some time with Daniel on the boat and I enjoyed the time to talk to the other mom's.

Thanks to the coffee group for inviting us with. Sometimes I feel like the odd man out with family since D is adopted. No one understands me when I am having issues with him. They tell me it is just normal. D has some issues, but these guys get it and I thank you so much for inviting me with.

Sunday was spent with family. Much more of that will be happening this week since my brother is home from Pennsylvania. And today is being spent with teachers for D and visits for baby K.
